What's Inside the Backpack?

PC Mag revealed the unique aspects of the design of MSI backpack PC. According to the report, the device has hot-swappable batteries commonly used in power-hungry desktop. The indicator lights will signal the user once the battery is in critical level. From there, the user can switch battery without having to shut down the PC or connect it to another source of power. The battery can last up to 90 minutes.

In addition, MSI backpack PC has two fan blades and nine heat pipes thus the components are air cooled in a quiet air circulation. According to MSI, 41 dba will be the noise output almost similar to desktop standard.

Furthermore, MSI backpack PC is powered by Intel Core i7, installed with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics cards and weighs eight pounds.

On the other hand, the outside appearance of MSI backpack PC is like a "futuristic robot machine style" according to PC gamer descriptions. The device color is almost black except for the red symmetrical panels encircling the MSI logo. It has been compared to a proton pack from the movie Ghostbusters.

The End for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift

Since MSI backpack PC or VR One addressed the gamer concerns over HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, will this be a mark of the end of the two VR platforms? Aside from the fact that Vive and Rift lacked the support from other desktops, MSI backpack PC or VR One is the most convenient VR Platform so far.

Release Date

TechSpot hinted that the device is already in mass production and should be available in the market within next month. More details for price, hardware and system and launching date have not been directly confirmed by MSI.
