Google’s Pixel XL Smartphone (Nexus HTC Marlin) Benchmark Details Revealed; Pixel, Pixel XL Will Sport Same Sony Cameras
ByThe benchmarks of Pixel XL smartphone, currently codenamed as Nexus HTC Marlin, has surfaced online. The benchmark details of the smartphone are seemingly confirming some of the gadget's specifications.
The recent benchmarks of Google's Pixel XL smartphone were made using the cross-platform processor benchmark, Geekbench. The Pixel XL is listed as Google Marlin, and the smartphone's operating system is noted as Android NMR1, which may point out to the latest version of Android 7.0 Nougat, according to Phone Arena.
The smartphone's operating system isn't all too surprising, considering that the latest smartphones of Google always rolled out around the same time the latest version of Android is unleashed.
However, Geekbench also listed that Google Marlin will be packed with a quad-core Qualcomm processor, and clocked at 1.59 GHz. Although the listed Qualcomm processor is unknown, it is being speculated to be the Snapdragon 820, based on the report of Android Headlines.
The benchmarks indicated that that the memory of Pixel XL will come along with 3,757 MB, which the speculated official listing for the device will be 4 gigabyte of RAM.
The combination of a 4 gigabyte of RAM and the Snapdragon 820 processor is fairly common with the most recent flagship smartphones released in 2016. The HTC 10, LG G5 as well as Samsung's Galaxy S7, all have the same processor and RAM combination.
On the other hand, a Twitter post post revealed that HTC's Sailfish and Marlin smartphones (might be called as Pixel and Pixel XL, respectively) will actually use the same cameras. The Sony camera that will be featured in the Pixel and Pixel XL is a 12 megapixel IMX378, Slash Gear reported.
The front camera of the smartphones is claimed to be a Sony IMX179, an older 8mp sensor that goes all the way back to the Nexus 5, Nexus 6P, as well as Huawei P9.
