Acer Inc., who specializes in advanced electronics technology, has recently announced at the IFA 2016 in Berlin their latest ultra-lightweight laptop named as the Acer Swift 7. The tech company claimed that their new device is by far the world's slimmest laptop.

In the press release made by Acer, the tech giant made it known that the Swift 7, which is donning a profile of less than a centimeter, is part of the new Swift notebook lineup, which comprises of three more portable devices such as the Swift 1, Swift 3 and Swift 5.

The tech company also stated that Acer Swift 7 will be packed with the Windows 10 operating system. Since Acer devised four variants of the laptop, the tech company seemed to target most of the consumer types in the market, based on the report of Vine Report.

Jerry Hou, Acer's general manager, made it known that even their latest laptop will don an aluminum frame with the aforementioned slim profile, in which an owner can still use the device every day.

However, the Acer Swift 7 does not come with a lot of noise, but the thickness of the laptop is what makes it a particularly impressive and enticing device. The thickness of Swift 7 is 9.98 mm. In spite of that, Acer still managed to insert in two USB Type-C ports and a headphone jack, which are found on the right side of the laptop, Tab Times reported.

Anyway, MacBook held the prestigious title of the lightest, thinnest laptop ever made, but when the Swift 7 will be launched, the device is nearly half as thick as the MacBook Air. The Acer Swift 7 dropped the processing power in favor for thinness.

As the Acer Swift 7 will be pre-loaded with an updated core i5-Y series processor, the Swift 7 performs better than the MacBook, according to Forbes.

The Acer Swift 7 starting at $999 will be available in North America and Europe from October.
