AMD Radeon RX 490 Release Date, Rumor: The Long-Wait for A Powerful Graphics Card will Soon be Over?
ByAMD is expected to launch the next gen of Vega-based graphics card, the RX 490, this year. It is a much anticipated card since many gamers would patiently wait for the launch instead of purchasing GTX 1080 or the other models.
These gamers claimed that what AMD will offer, may be much better than what Nvidia is selling at the moment.
It seems that the release of RX 490 is worth the wait indeed.
AMD Radeon RX 490 specs rumor
Even when the release date has not been announced, there are many speculations on the specs and VideoCardz has even listed the specs with 'unreleased' status. According to the list, AMD will launch RX 490 to the market in the fourth quarter of this year. Which means, it will not be too long to wait for it.
Other than that, the description said that RX 490 will have 14nm Vega 10, with base clock 1200 mHz and memory clock 350 MHz. Of course, the specifications are subject to change.
Many people have doubted if RX 490 will be built with Vega architecture. The speculations have even gone far, stating that the RX 490 might be the dual-GPU solution. If it is so, then this graphics card would be one of the most powerful models.
Another report revealing a comment from Raja Koduri, the Head of Radeon Technologies Group. He said that there will be something new with 'fully immersive experiences' and that the 2016 is an interesting year as there will be the new GPU architectures and process nodes, Moore Insights Strategy reported.
It seems that it refers to more than one GPU architecture, Vega could likely be the next after Polaris is revealed earlier. Polaris is already powerful and it is unlikely for RX 490 to use the same architecture.
AMD Radeon RX 490 for 4K gaming
The upcoming RX 490 could likely get many improvements if it is said to be compatible for 4K gamings. It would have to at least, beat the performance of GTX 1080 but then the graphics card might get a lot pricier.
However, since the actual product is not released yet, the speculations and rumors about AMD RX 490 should be taken with a grain of salt.
