Rachel Jeantel will have her choice of any historically black college or university (HBCU) once she graduates high school thanks to a morning show host, the Huffington Post reported.

Tom Joyner, host of a Florida morning radio show, had Jeantel on as a guest Tuesday morning and made her a proposition. He offered her a full ride to any HBCU she chose upon graduating high school.

"If you want to graduate from high school, and go to an HBCU, even if it's not in Florida but especially Florida, like Florida Memorial, Edward Waters or FAMU, if you want to do that, I want to help you do that," Joyner said.

Joyner is also the founder of the Tom Joyner Foundation, which raises money to give students at HBCUs financial aid.

"I will help you get tutors to get you out of high school, tutors to help you pass the SAT, and I will give you a full ride scholarship to any HBCU you'd like," he said.

She replied: "Thank you."

Jeantel was the prosecution's star witness in the murder trial of George Zimmerman because she was on the phone with Trayvon Martin during the pursuit. Jeantel testified she heard Martin yell "get off, get off" before the call signal cut out.

She was criticized by many social media users for her diction, the attorneys' inability to understand her, her dress and her perceived lack of intelligence. Following her testimony, Columbia University linguist John McWhorter appeared on MSNBC's "All in With Chris Hayes" and said Jeantel spoke with perfect English, just not mainstream English.

"[Jeantel was] articulate, just in a different kind of English than mainstream English," he told Hayes.

Rod Vereen, Jeantel's lawyer, also appeared on Joyner's show to talk about her career goals.

"She actually told me, believe it or not she wants to go into law enforcement," he said. "You know we were sitting down at dinner last night and one of the producers was asking us 'what does the future hold for you?'"

According to Vereen, she is interested in one day becoming a homicide investigator. Joyner told Jeantel his foundation would be in touch and asked if her parents would be interested in the offer.

She replied: "They will be interested, they're listening right now."
