It is fascinating to learn that a some celebrities and famous names of today worked the same jobs as most of us do. Before getting the big life and hitting the big scene, some of them worked the humblest of professions.
Aiming to pay their bills and rent, or just some food to eat, they do what they need to do to survive.
For the likes of Gene Simmons, not many know this fact, but he was an elementary school teacher before he became a rock legend, according to Ranker.
A famous person like Gene Simmons was a teacher? It is a surprise for most people. He is known as a bassist, record producer, song writer and more. In some aspects he is also a businessman and a television producer.
But imagine him teaching a group of kids. His net worth of $300 million would not be possible if he did not take this step in his life. He taught the 6th graders of P.S. 75. Did the kids know that he was The Demon? Probably not.
This KISS singer, who was born at Haifa, Israel in 1949 practiced guitar at a young age. He did work a variety of jobs in New York before he became famous. He was considered to be an excellent typist, serving as an assistant to an editor at Vogue. But his notable education work was at the Upper West Side. He enrolled at Sullivan County Community College and College of Staten Island. And he majored in Education.
Now, he has garnered multiple awards and is added to The Smithsonian Museum too. He is considered to be part of American culture. "The story of Mr. Simmons' American experience deserves to be preserved. An immigrant and son of a holocaust survivor, he used creative vision and entrepreneurial acumen to make a significant impact for our nation's popular culture, becoming an iconic figure in American music and entertainment," states the announcement.
In his spare time, he also supports a non profit organization to revitalize music in American public schools.
