MacBook Air 2016 Release Date, Specs & Price: Will Apple Phase Out Air Product Line? Find Here!
ByWhile several consumers are waiting with bated breath for information regarding MacBook Air 2016 release date, a slew of rumors doing rounds online indicate that the much-awaited laptop might not even see the light of the day.
Apple is pending its release on MacBook Air 2016 with an array of hardware improvements including upgraded processor and graphics, despite the fact that recent reports indicate disappointing updates coming from the Air line.
In the midst of several leaks hinting at Apple's upcoming flagship devices including a new Apple Watch, a new MacBook Pro and the new iPhone 7 surfacing online, not a single update of a MacBook Air online seems to be stirring conversations among MacBook enthusiasts, BGR reported.
The aforementioned report also claims that MacBook Air line is gradually being scrapped as it hasn't received a significant update in years, with rumors claiming that Apple is currently focusing on MacBook Pro 2016. No prizes for guessing, this will not work in the favor of the company, especially if it continues to offer users the expensive Retina MacBook as the only choice.
Moreover, the 11-inch MacBook Air is rumored to have improved upon the appearance of new Retina MacBook, while the 13-inch version is spotted to have a close price while it also shows a substandard display as compared to the 13-inch MacBook Pro.
According to Jan Dawson, chief analyst at Jackdaw Research, the Cupertino-based tech firm retained the MacBook Air just as they do with older iPhones, however the MacBook is now in the same position as the latest iPhone. And that is what, according to Dawson is a clear sign that Air will be dumped over time.
Amid several rumor doing rounds with the continuing deferment for Air, it is expected to produce an awe-inspiring refresh in 2016, with claims that the highly-anticipated laptop will feature Siri and Touch ID fingerprint recognition, according to Vine Report.
The purported MacBook Air laptops are expected to be more portable and flexible as a result of its lighter and thinner hardware as opposed to other current models, featuring new batteries, USB-C ports, Intel Skylake processors and cooling systems.
Rumors are running rampant that the iPad Pro's Apple Pencil is slated to receive an overhaul as well in a bid to make it compatible with the MacBook Air.
In terms of price, the 13-inch MacBook Air is likely to cost $980, while the bigger, 15-inch model is rumored to be up for grabs carrying a price tag of about $1,100. Apple is likely to announce the new laptops sometime this fall.
