Moto Z Play Release Date Still Not Confirmed? Leaked Photos Hint 3.5mm Jack; Moto Z Force Droid, Specs, Features And Price Revealed!
ByLooks like good news for those waiting with bated breath for Motorola's highly-anticipated Moto Z Play smartphone as a slew of leaked photos and specs hinting new Moto Mod pin connectors and new fingerprint sensor have surfaced online.
When the original Moto Z debuted not too long ago, the modular Android smartphone was well-received by avid smartphone users. Motorola would be hoping to garner same positive feedback for its upcoming Moto Z Play Design, which might not be the most powerful device in the company's lineup, but is definitely an economical version.
If the leaked photos are anything to go by, Motorola seems all set to deviate from its traditional design as the leak teases a new glossy finish that replaces the metallic one sported by its predecessor, according to reports on Nashville Chatter.
Furthermore, the leaked photos indicate that the purported Android smartphone will sport a square home button. The Moto Mod pin connectors are shown as well. As far as specs are concerned, the Moto Z Play can be categorized as a high-end device.
The purported smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch screen, and is powered by an AMOLED panel that warrants brighter display as well as longer battery life. However, it is not sparred from shortcomings as it is said to come with 1080p resolution, contrary to 2K as a lot of people anticipated.
Rumors are rife about Motorola developing an Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade for the Moto Z Play Design, BGR reported.
The phone is said to run Android Marshmallow out of the box and will pack a Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM.
Moreover, the device is rumored to feature the standard 3.5mm jack, unlike the Moto Z and the Moto Z force which scrapped the fan-favorite connector. This move echoed Apple's decision to dump the jack in the much-awaited iPhone 7 as confirmed by the leaked photos.
Motorola has opted to remain mum regarding the Moto Z Play's release date, specs and features. However, it is speculated that the phone will carry a price tag of about $300 for the unlocked version and the carrier-specific models will be cheaper.
Those keen on getting their hands on Motorola's next handset, will have to wait until the company confirms or debunks these rumors and announces an official release date in the U.S. and across the globe.
