Gyms in the "Pokemon Go" can be quite pressuring especially for players who have no idea how it works. Here are tips that will turn you into an extremely good Pokemon trainer.

After joining one of the teams at Level 5 and capturing considerable number of Pokemon, you are all set to challenge enemy Gyms or train at one of the Gyms owned by your team. Pokemon Gyms can be claimed by a team and on the basis of the Gym's Prestige level; a number of trainers can appoint their Pokemon to defend the Gym.

Check out the video clip from the Tech Insider YouTube channel below for tips on how to take on and defend the Gym; chances are you may have not come across one of these maneuvers before.

First off, do not think any Gym is too arduous to reign over. A Gym featuring some Pokemon with high CPs does not imply it cannot be won. All you need is the right tactics, LifeHacker reported.

Find a Pokemon that is good at attacking: Pokemon such as Arcanine, Snorlax, Lapras, Dragonite and Vaporeon (even after the patch) are some really good options that can be used to attack.

Pick a Gym with low foot traffic: There are quite a few Gyms in "Pokemon Go" that are continually under attack and switch hands every five minutes. The key is choosing a less busy Gym that will allow you to attack and leave defenders in peace.

Pick and prep your Pokemon prior to a battle: Its critical to set the attack order of your Pokemon from lowest to highest CP. Burning out your most powerful Pokemon at once is not a good idea. Moreover, take each typings of your Pokemon into effect so every Pokemon will be effective at some stage in the battle.

It is imperative for you to have a good team of Pokemon that boast high CP before taking on an enemy Gym, IGN reported.

Team up with friends: The hit augmented reality mobile game is designed to be played with friends and other trainers you might bump into. At some point, you're likely to come across a Gym that might not be too easy to win. In such case, it is a good idea to attack it together with another player on the same team.

Pick your best defender: The ideal defender to place in an empty gym have the most health, this enable them to last longer against attackers. The best defenders are Lapras, Poliwrath, Dragonite, Snorlax, Exeggutor, and Slowbro in that order.

Keep your best defender out of the battle: As soon as you clear out a Gym, ensure you stick a Pokemon in there right away to avoid someone else doing it instead. This is why it is important to keep your defender out of your battle and at optimum health.

To get placed, a defender needs to have full health. It's worth noting that the time taken for a Pokemon to heal is just long enough for another player to steal your hard-earned victory.

Once you've secured the gym, you can hang out for sometime in order to level up its prestige; this will enable other teammates to place their Pokemon in the Gym as well.
