Urban Meyer allegedly turned in one of his former assistant coaches for recruiting violations, OutKicktheCoverage.com reported.

Meyer is the current head coach of Ohio State University (OSU) football team and the OKTC report cited sources in New York saying he told the NCAA about violations made by University of Florida's (UF) Brian White.

White is the current running backs coach at UF and was the tight ends coach under Meyer during his stint as head coach of the Gators. Meyer allegedly told the NCAA White committed what is known as a "bump" violation, a rule against improper contact between recruiter and recruit.

The recruit, Curtis Samuel, a running back/defensive back from Brooklyn's Erasmus Hall High School, said both UF and OSU were in his top five schools before Meyer reported White to the NCAA. Samuel even received a scholarship offer from UF and he seemed excited about the offer.

"I'm interested in Florida and what they have to offer," Samuel told the website Gator Country in April. "I have watched them play since I was young and I was excited to have a coach from Florida come all the way to New York just to see me and offer me. I want to visit Florida so I'm going to try my best to set something up maybe for this summer."

White is UF's lead recruiter for Samuel, a running back Meyer said he envisions as a similar player to the Seattle Seahawks' dynamic wide out Percy Harvin, a player Meyer coached at UF.

"Florida is a good program," Samuel continued. "They have won national championships and they always have winning seasons and good players. I know that Florida has put a lot of players into the (NFL) and coach (Will) Muschamp continues to do that."

The NCAA found White to have committed no violations, but since Meyer's alleged report, Samuel's top five choice of schools has changed. He recently said his list consists of OSU, Alabama, Notre Dame, Miami and Rutgers.

Neither Meyer nor White has spoken publically on the matter and no wrongdoing has been committed from either party.
