Square Enix's Hajime Tabata confirmed rumors hinting that the release date of the much-awaited game has been pushed back to November 29 - nearly a couple of months later than its originally scheduled September 30 launch date - Tabata made the unpleasant revelation via a video uploaded on YouTube on August 15.
The video below affirms the new release date for "Final Fantasy XV" as November 29, 2016.
The delay was further confirmed by a source within GameStop management that spilled the beans about the game's release date to Gamnesia, noting that Square Enix has delayed the game until November 29.
According to a statement released by the developers, the new date enable the team behind the game to further augment and administer quality testing to ensure the reality of the game can match the expectations of not only the fans but of the creative teams as well.
Tabata also opened up about the project noting that their goal was to spawn a never-before-seen level of freedom and realism in the game. He cited this reason for the studio needing more time. Nevertheless, he noted that this new release date will facilitate the developers to achieve this purpose. He personally apologized for the additional wait, but noted that the team is focused on achieving a level of perfection that the title's zealous fans deserve.
The executive clarified that the team has finished working on a "master version" of Final Fantasy XV, and have already began working on a day-one patch. Speaking in the video, he explained that the contents of the patch should be rolled out with the final game rather than just applying it as a downloaded update, which led to the decision to postpone the game's release date.
