Looks like the release of the Samsung Galaxy A8 2016 could be near as the Android-powered smartphone has surfaced on a benchmarking site yet again.

With the exception of the Galaxy A8, Samsung has already refreshed its Galaxy A-series smartphones including the Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016). Although the company has not made the Galaxy A8 (2016) official yet, the smartphone is already in the works and is most likely to hit the store shelves soon.

The purported smartphone was recently spotted on Geekbench listing, which divulged its specs and features. Carrying the model number SM-A810F, the Galaxy A8 (2016) is a refresh of the 5.7-inch Galaxy A8 SM-A800F model which was released last year.

This is the not the first time the Galaxy A8 (2016) has made an appearance on a benchmarking site. The alleged smartphone was benchmarked earlier in July when it was spotted on another benchmarking site GFXBench, which offered a detailed insight into the device's specs and features, SamMobile reported.

The recently-surfaced Geekbench listing posted on August 8 let slip that the SM-A810F will be powered by a robust Exynos 7420 processor; in other words it will house the same chipset deployed by the Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 lineup.

This is the South Korean tech firm's own ARM-based SoC. Clocking at 1.5 GHz; the Exynos 7420 is an octa-core processor. In addition, the Galaxy A8 2016 will pack 3 GB of RAM, according to the benchmark listing.

Further spilling the beans about the Samsung handset, the listing notes that the upcoming smartphone, which was well-received in Asia, will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.

Although the Geekbench listing does not delve into other specifications, the GFXBench test for the Galaxy A8 2016 reveal that the SM-A810 will feature a 5.1-inch full HD (1,920 x 1080p) screen. The device is reported to boast Mali-T760 MP8 GPU and finger gesture support. The upcoming smartphone is likely to feature a 16 MP and 5 MP primary and secondary cameras respectively, TechTimes reported.

In terms of storage, the Galaxy A8 2016 was listed as having 32 GB of on-board storage.

As far as connectivity is concerned, the device will come with support for NFC, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. But that's not all, the listing also notes that the smartphone will offer support for additional features including proximity sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, and a light sensor.

It was recently reported that the Galaxy A8 2016 has received Bluetooth certification, hinting that the release date is close.

A release date is not yet associated with the Galaxy A8 2016, but it is likely to make an appearance at the IFA 2016 in September.
