Surprisingly, the Mafia games have been one of the most underestimated video game series in recent memory, despite taking players back in time and spinning awe-inspiring stories. However, 2K Games and Take-Two Interactive are reportedly working on what looks like their best installment in the series so far with "Mafia III."

The upcoming action-adventure game will reportedly crop up a prodigious story that revolves around the protagonist and central playable character in Lincoln Clay and his intriguing expedition.

Check out the trailer for "Mafia III" released at E3 2016 below:

The game centers on Clay, who is a Vietnam War veteran coming back from the service and ends up joining the Black Mob. Clay's crime family gets killed by the Italian Mafia, but he manages to dodge death with the help of a priest who saves him. Now, Clay is in a pursuit to seek revenge for his friends, according to Fansided.

One of Clay's lieutenants was spotted in the reveal trailer, Cassandra a.k.a. "Voodoo Queen," is the focus of the short video recently rolled out by 2K Games.
Portrayed as a Haitian Syndicate leader, "Voodoo Queen" Cassandra will join forces with Lincoln Clay as one of his three lieutenants.

According to the video, Cassandra is nursing a grudge against the mafia giving her an apt reason to participate in the action. She is described in the video as "mysterious and ruthless," alluding to an intriguing character that avid gamers will certainly look forward to.

Cassandra will reportedly play a vital role in taking New Bordeaux's business apart, helping the title's protagonist in any way necessary.

The video states that "God help anyone that gets in her way," which imply gamers will enjoy her presence in the game, specifically while handling enemies and those taken into custody as it could be quite exciting to watch them talk, in case players opts for some "Punisher~ish" questioning, Mobile & Apps reported.

In collaboration with Cassandra and the other two lieutenants, Lincoln Clay will do everything necessary to eradicate the Italian Mafia according to the player's preferences.

Players will not be restricted from choosing just about anything in terms of decisions and the primary focus of the game is expanding the gamers own Mafia empire. Alternatively, players can go guns blazing, stealth or simply talk their way with their adversary or even join them.

"Mafia III" is slated to hit the store shelves for Xbox One, PS4, Windows and Mac October 7 this year.

The trailer below accentuates the curious character of Cassandra. If rumors proved to be true, a subsequent video trailer will be rolled out soon.
