All films are subjective. What can be deemed a good movie for an individual can be a bad film for another person. But there are rare ocassions that a bad film is so bad it is good. "Sharknado" was a runaway hit back in 2013, with 2 sequels under its belt. It is headlined by actor Ian Ziering of "Beverly Hills 90210" fame, and actress Tara Reid who is best known for being in a series of "American Pie" movies. "Sharknado" was helmed by director Anthony C. Ferrante, and produced by SyFy Films.
Running with just a budget of $2 million, "Sharkanado" managed to get an approval rating of 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is quite a feat, for a movie carrying the consensus of, "Proudly, shamelessly, and gloriously brainless, Sharknado redefines 'so bad it's good' for a new generation." The premise of deadly tornadoes filled with even deadlier man-eating sharks has stuck a chord with audiences that seem to enjoy the absurdity of the plot, but can appreciate the high entertainment value it offers. Sharknado and the rest of its sequels are self-aware of the kind of entertainment that it brings, and that kind of honesty is what created a cult following Ziering and his crew.
Now, in a report from Heavy, Ziering, Reid and the rest of the Shark hunting gang are back. A fourth installment of the Sharknado series, "Sharknado: The 4th Awakens" is on its way to SyFy this weekend. According to IBTimes, a new trailer has just been released. The trailer offers answers to the biggest Sharknado question of all - Did April Shepard survive? Well, the trailer features April in a training montage, which looks cool, but considering what they are about to face, she's going to need the extra workout. Sharknado 4 has also revealed a new poster with heavy influences taken from the Star Wars franchise.
As with the other "Sharknado" films, there would be multiple cameos from celebrities, which can be regarded as the most awaited part of the movie. There are may also be other possible new additions to the cast. Heavy.com has posted a list of cameos that you can check out. And yes... The Hoff is in it.
