Weeks before the official launch of "No Man's Sky", an alleged copy of the game is being sold on eBay for $2,000!
Two weeks before the official release of "No Man's Sky", an eBay user, walke-jim, has been selling copies of the game. The game seems to be real. The listing has images of the box of the fame, disc and an icon on the PS4 screen.
The game being sold seems to be legit, but the risk that it is fake is never out of thought. It is a bit unusual that there is a marketing leaflet for the game inside the "No Man's Sky" box. Having the leaflet included inside the box of the final game seems to be odd. Furthermore, a release date can be seen inside the leaflet and it is dated to June 21, 2016 which is the original date of launch before it was officially moved to August, Video Gamer reported.
It is possible that copies in the United States will ship as shown in the listing, but still it is unusual. The listing advertises in the caption encouraging to be the first to play the 'most anticipated title in 2016'. It also says that the game has been opened and tested.
Walke-jim, the owner of the listing, has a history suggesting that he may have also sold a copy of "Quantum Break" for Xbox One on eBay prior to its release. However, the actual listing cannot be found on eBay anymore so it is difficult to determine whether the sale is legit or not.
A Twitter user, milkybar1983 noted on a tweet that the copy sold on eBay is fake because the disc label appears to be misaligned.
There are several other copies of the game with another image are being shared on Reddit.
The official launch of "No Man's Sky" is dated on August 10. The Pc version of the game will be released on August 12. Presently, players can pre-order the game on PlayStation Store for a price of £49.99.
