Nexus Sailfish Rumors, Specs, Leaks: Evan Blass Reveals Build.Prop File Via Twitter Showing Full HD 1080p Resolution, QSnapdragon 820; File Legit?
ByNexus Sailfish photos was recently released on the Internet, while its display and Snapdragon chip were revealed through a Twitter build.prop file post.
The build.prop file of the HTC S1 also known as the Nexus Sailfish was leaked by Evan Blass, a VentureBeat reporter on his Twitter account. Nexus Sailfish is the smaller brother of the Nexus Marlin that was previously leaked online, as well.
The build.prop system file is also found on Android operating system. It contains property settings and specific and important data to a manufacturer or device. In the case of the Nexus Sailfish, this manufacturer is HTC.
The leaked build.prop file shows the exact values of the Nexus Sailfish. It showed the display density of 420, which means that the phone has a full HD 1080p screen resolution. Based on the systems file leak, it is speculated that the Nexus Sailfish will come out with the 5.2 inch screen. While its older brother, the Nexus Marlin will come out in a 5.5 inch screen with QHD 1440p screen resolution, Pocket-Lint reported.
Also based on the leak system file of Nexus Sailfish, the chipset is listed as MSM8996. The code corresponds to the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset. However, Qualcomm is known to design a single model number for different chips. For example, Snapdragon 800 and 801 share the same model number MSM8997, Android Authority reported.
With Qualcomm's Snapdragon chipset models, there are rumors that the Nexus Sailfish may be equipped with the latest and a faster Snapdragon 821 processor. Aside from the specs and Snapdragon processor, the build.prop file in Nexus Sailfish did not give additional clues to what the phone's unique features will be. However, the file did show that it may have a fingerprint scanner.
Despite the system file of Nexus Sailfish leak, the rumored specifications and informations should still be taken with skepticism in mind. Since the build.prop file can be modified easily, it also means that the Nexus Sailfish system file leaked online may not be legit. The build.prop file may not guarantee that the Nexus Sailfish will have those specifications leaked online.
Nexus Sailfish is expected to be officially launched by Google along with its larger device, the Nexus Marlin this fall. The Nexus Sailfish operating system will be running on Android Nougat. Watch Nexus Sailfish predictions are here.
