The South Korean actress - Claudia Kim, also known as Kim Soo-hyun, has been set to star in the upcoming horror film "The Dark Tower," alongside the English actor Idris Elba and the "Interstellar" actor Matthew McConaughey.

"The Dark Tower" is based on a series of Stephen King novels, which is about Roland, the last existing gunslinger with a plan to find the dark tower that will save his deteriorating world, according to Soompi.

It has been said that Kim will be playing the role of Arra Champignon. The role of the actress is supposedly one of the significant female characters. But details of Soo-hyun's character in the film have not yet been revealed by the actress' talent agency, based on the report of KPOP.

The Korean actress gained her fame and acclaim for her roles in Netflix's drama series "Marco Polo" and the American superhero film - "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

The representative of Kim made it known that the actress is currently busy filming "Monster," but as soon as Kim is done, the actress will be heading to South Africa to join the production of "The Dark Tower."

The efforts to adapt Stephen King's novel began in 2007, but because of the changing of the production lines, the film had an intermittent with various filmmakers and studios.

On the other hand, in the lead up to the film's Comic-Con appearance, two official images of stars McConaughey and Elba debuted. The new film images can confirm that the motion picture will have the kind of large-scale ambition the story needs, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The latest photos also introduced one of the main protagonists - Jake Chambers. Jake is a young boy from New York City who came across with visions and nightmares of the eponymous tower, Indie Wire reported.

"The Dark Tower" will hit theaters on February 2017.
