'Arrow' Season 5 News & Spoilers: Cody Rhodes To Continue Feud With Stephen Amell By Playing Villain In CW Series [VIDEO]
ByRemember Stephen Amell and Cody Rhodes feud? They will continue it on the next season of "Arrow."
With the growing popularity of DC TV series such as The Flash, Supergirl, DC's Legends of Tomorrow and the enduring series with 4 seasons under its belt, "Arrow," it's no surprise that these show can pretty call on any superstar to be cast or guest in episodes of their new seasons.
Stephen Amell the lead star of CW's "Arrow" made appearances on WWE Raw, which apparently started a feud with WWE Superstar and wrestling heel, Cody Rhodes A.K.A., Stardust. This resulted in Amell teaming up with Adrian Neville in a tag-team match against Stardust and King Barrett in Summer Slam 2015, according to Comic Book Resources.
The match ended with Amell and Neville winning through pinfall after Neville used his wrestling signature move, Red Arrow on Barrett. This brought on the popularity of their rivalry, which further solidifies the need for Rhodes to go against Amell, but now on Amell's home turf, Star City.
Rhodes is set to debut on Season 5 of CW's Arrow, and it seems like he will retain his WWE heel image. It had been announced before that Rhodes would make an appearance in Star City, but there were very few information as to what kind of role he would be portraying. As it happens, The WWE Superstar may have shown the world which side of Team Arrow playing for with a recent image that he posted on his social media account, Collider reported.
The image that Rhodes uploaded on Twitter shows Cody in the gym and wearing a workout jacket with the words "Season 5 Arrow Team Rhodes 'Destroy Queen'" written on the back. Here is the said image:
Just last May, Cody Rhodes announced that he is quitting the WWE citing the reason of not being able to go back to portray himself as Cody Rhodes again, and being stuck in the persona of Stardust. While he did end his WWE career, his wrestling career continued in the indie circuit, and his fans can look forward to him flexing out his acting chops on CW's Arrow.
Fans of Cody Rhodes can look forward to seeing him of Season 5 of "Arrow," October 5, 2016 on the CW.
