WrestleMania 33 Matches: Bray Wyatt Calls Out The Rock To A Matchup At The Grandest Stage Of Them All; Will 'The Great One’ Oblige?
ByBray Wyatt and The Rock have some unfinished business that the leader of The Wyatt Family would love to finish at WrestleMania 33.
In what turned out to be one of the most bizarre interviews to be televised on ESPN, Bray Wyatt recalled his confrontation with The Rock at WrestleMania 32 and challenged "The Great One" to a match at the upcoming WrestleMania 33.
Although the biggest professional wrestling PPV (pay-per-view) produced by the World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. is slated to take place on April 2, next year, it looks like The Rock already has a challenger.
During the interview, Wyatt admitted that The Rock is world's greatest star and noted that "it was cool" being in the ring with him. However, he immediately added that they have unfinished business that he'd love to finish at WrestleMania 33, FoxSports reported.
Although 'Bray Wyatt Vs. The Rock' match may have seemed to be a really bad idea about six month ago, it depends how the professional wrestling company manages Wyatt's recent growth as WWE superstar.
There's no guarantee that the "Brahma Bull" is in WWE's plan for WrestleMania 33 yet, plus the company's focus on the "New Era" and the deep-seated roster boosted by NXT talent, it would be hoping to be in a position by next year where the company doesn't need to depend on the return of The Rock, an Attitude Era superstar.
The Rock last competed in a full-on match in WrestleMania 29 and it seems unlikely he'll work another one. Basically, it depends on his movie schedule and more importantly on the fact if any studio would allow him to step inside the squared ring and risk injury, WhatCulture reported.
Nevertheless, if somehow this showdown does take place at WrestleMania 33, it would give Bray a much-needed boost. Lately, Wyatt hasn't been as impressive as a character as the WWE Universe would expect him to be and this is mainly due to his inability to win crunch matches.
While it still remains to be seen if Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will actually return to the four-sided ring to square off against "The New Face of Fear," it definitely sounds like a WrestlMania 33 dream matchup.
