There will be new characters added in "Supergirl" Season 2.

Fans of the now CW Supergirl TV series will be happy to know that the upcoming Supergirl Season 2 is looking to be another exciting addition to the series, with a roster of new characters destined to join the new CW show. The latest spoiler news points to rumors that the character Maggie Sawyer's addition to the show may point to a possible appearance of Batwoman.

The said storyline possibility was included in a report posted on Movie Pilot that made known of Maggie's history with the said well-loved DC superhero. Comic book fans may remember that Maggie shares a romantic relationship with Kate Kane, also known as Batwoman.

In the comic books, Maggie is a police officer who rose through the ranks to be promoted as the head of a crime unit. Based from the New 52 comic series, the police officer was Kate's girlfriend. During an investigation, she discovered Kate's superhero identity.

Maggie's introduction to Kara Danvers' world in Supergirl Season 2, Batwoman may grace the TV series with an appearance. Another plot speculation also pointed to Kate's cousin Bruce Wayne, or Batman, to also appear, or at the very least, be mentioned on the CW show. However, it is still muddy if fans will be blessed with a Batwoman or Batman story line in Supergirl, as indicated in the same report.

Meanwhile, initial casting reports gave details about Maggie as a detective who will lead a new division in the police force, the Science Police. The said new police division has been tasked with taking care of alien and metahuman threats.

In other news, the CBS-turned-CW show second season will also feature some more new characters, as well as the confirmed appearance of Supergirl's famous cousin Superman. Tyler Hoechlin, the former "Teen Wolf" star has been confirmed to play the Man of Steel in the show's upcoming second season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Superman is expected to appear in the first few episodes of the new CW show.

Andrew Kreisberg, the executive producer of Supergirl even stated that he and co-showrunner Greg Berlanti have always wanted to work with the the Teen Wolf star. He also spoke enthusiastically about Hoechlin's addition to the series and said that they were thrilled to have "added another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character."
