Chicago Cubs ace Jake Arrieta will get a tattoo after losing a bet to teammate Tommy La Stella over the College World Series.
Arrieta has some ink in, with tattoo honoring his kids and his wife Brittany, however, his incoming tattoo may remind him how he lost in a game. The star pitcher player was confident to beat La Stella's team Coastal Corolina at the College World Series, however, Chanticleers beat the Horned Frogs, thus it means National League Cy Young winner will get a Coastal Carolina tattoo, ESPN reported.
Arrieta and La Stella are team mates of Chicago Cubs. However, the two attended different colleges. Arrieta attended Texas Christian University (TCU), while La Stella is an alumnus of Coastal Carolina. So meaning, Arrieta played for Horned Frogs, while La Stella played for CCU Chanticleers. The two teams had head-to-head on June 25, Saturday.
CCU beat Horned Frogs back-to-back days. The deal of the bet is whoever lose the game will get a tatto of the winner's school.
When La Stella was asked by the network if they will record the tattooing, he said "yes" as long it is in G-rated area, and he laughed.
Arrieta arrived at the ballpark on June 26, Sunday, however, he did not appear in a laughing mood as he quickly removed a Coastal Carolina placard taped to his locker stall, Fox Sports reported.
It was not easy for Chanticleers to beat the Horned Frogs because TCU beat Coastal Carolina once earlier in the week. The two team had a bet. Since Chanticleers lost, La Stella dressed up as a Horned Frogs mascot.
Meanwhile, Coastal Carolina will face Arizona in the best-of-three finals beginning June 27, Monday night. La Stella will begin a Triple-A rehab assignment on June 27, Monday.
