The Oculus Rift VR and the Samsung Gear VR will be having a cross platform play that will have a great impact in the development of the virtual reality advancement.

Despite the differences, the Oculus Rift will be having a cross-platform play with Samsung Gear VR. This will mean that Samsung mobile devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy note 5 will now be able to see games supported by the Oculus Rift such as "Anshar Wars 2". This will also mean that Samsung mobile devices will be able to see games with all the devices in multiplayer which is playing at the same time. Plus, the game "Anshar Wars 2" can just be purchased once and be used on the other without paying for it again, SlashGear reported.

"Fusion Wars" is a coop-arcade game which is exclusively released for Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR cross platform play. It will not only allow cross platform play, but it will also have a cross- buy functionality which means it can be played in both VR gadgets even though it was bought only once, Gamasutra reported.

The cross-platform play has always been an interesting adventure for the players. Most especially if the devices are different. However, in this cross-play, the devices are similar in a relative way which means controls could be the same and the gameplay in virtual reality must be similar in order to avoid one-sided advantage which is unfair for the other.

Also, Oculus updated their VR Store so players are now able to view/preview al games in their desktops, be it for Oculus Rift or GearVR. Oculus also have an Oculus Summer Sale for GearVR and Oculus Rift titles. This includes the titles Gunjack, ADR1FT, Elite Dangerous, and Dreadhalls. The sale continues up until July 5th.
