On Tuesday, the wrestling world received an outrageous news, when the WWE publicized that Joe Anoa'i, famously called as Roman Reigns, violated the company's Wellness Policy and being suspended for 30 days.
The World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. announced the suspension of Reigns on its official website, however, the substance the professional wrestler was caught using was not revealed. Reigns immediately hit on his Twitter account to issue a statement wherein he apologized to everyone, including his family, friends and fans, Yibada reported.
The WWE Wellness Policy was materialized in February 2006, and the first-time violation will result in an automatic 30-day suspension. While the second violation is a suspension for 60 days.
If a wrestler failed to comply with the Wellness Policy for a third time, the wrestler's contract would be terminated, and they would be banned from being rehired for at least a year after their termination, Rolling Stone reported.
The entertainment company has been very strict on drug testing ever since the death of the Mexican-American professional wrestler Eddie Guerrero on November 13, 2005.
The suspension of Reigns is a big deal, since the company was endorsing him to become the next face of WWE.
Since the WWE started the wellness policy violations, the American professional wrestler Reigns is not the first wrestling superstar to be suspended for the same violations since 2007.
Reigns will join the list of the biggest names in professional wrestlers from the likes of the two time OVW Hardcore Champion - Randy Orton and óscar Gutiérrez, better known as Rey Mysterio, Yahoo Sports reported.
However, Reigns was last seen in the main event of "Monday Night Raw." And the 30-day suspension of the professional wrestler would end before the next pay-per-view of WWE on July 24, dubbed as - "Battleground."
Reigns is scheduled to muscle out in the main event of that show against the first FCW Grand Slam Champion - Seth Rollins and the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion - Dean Ambrose.
