The season 2 finale of the Flash leaves a lot of questions and certainly heightens the anticipation for season 3.
Fans of "The Flash" are mostly believing that the end scene implies that The Flash is diving into Flashpoint Paradox territory.
At the end of The Flash's Season Two finale, Barry Allen traveled back in time and saved his mother from being killed by the Eobard
Thawne Reverse-Flash, which in turn sets into motion a time paradox that made the Season One version of himself, standing by to attempt the same feat, vanish from existence.
Those who are following the Flash comic book events (or even just those who watch the DC Universe animated films) feel that Flashpoint is coming in season 3.
Released in back 2011, Flashpoint is a five-issue miniseries where Barry Allen wakes up in a horrifying alternate timeline filled with dark, twisted versions of the heroes and villains he knows. In this timeline, Aquaman and Wonder Woman stage a war that pits their nations against one another, thus making everyday life of humans trapped in between.
Barry should discover the root of this terrible future, and then restore his powers so that he can travel back to change it. This in turn gave birth to DC's New 52 series where the problems in continuity for most of their comic book series were straightened out.
Sadly, Barry eventually learned that it was his own carelessness as he had traveled back in time to save his mother. Aftermath of his time travel, was decades old shattered reality.
The story was later adapted for Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, an animated feature film that was released in 2013.
During an appearance at MegaCon this weekend, The Flash's Carlos Valdes who plays Cisco was asked about the notion of exploring the world of Flashpoint in the upcoming season.
"The Flash" Season 3 will return on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 8 to 9 p.m., Cosmic Book News reported
