The much-awaited MacBook Pro 2016 did not make an appearance during the recently-concluded WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference), letting down Apple's huge fanbase.

Contrary to fans' expectations, the Cupertino-based tech firm unwrapped an all-new operating system dubbed, macOS Sierra instead.

However, this is not the first Apple has fallen short of its fans' expectations, as far as the MacBook Pro 2016 release is concerned. Apple did not announce the new MacBook Pro during its event in March either, disappointing several fans who were anticipating the announcement.

Although a considerable number of fans were disappointed by this, there were some who knew Apple will not announce the MacBook Pro 2016 during the WWDC, which basically is an event known for unveiling software rather than hardware updates, Yibada reported.

Despite the fact that no details about the next generation of the Pro lineup were divulged, some optimistic fans still believe that the MacBook Pro 2016 launch is in the offing.

Apple's New Operating Sysyem - macOS Sierra

The recently-revealed macOS Sierra operating system teases features that the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 is slated to bring to Apple's already impressive MacBook lineup, 9 to 5 Mac reported.

In addition, a slew of leaked images that accentuates new features of the MacBook Pro 2016 have surfaced online.

The recently surfaced leaks reportedly give a stamp of approval to the highly-anticipated OLED touch bar placed above the keyboard of the new MacBook Pro. If rumors proved true, the OLED touch bar will take over from the traditional set of function keys. The bar reportedly flaunts a customisable set of commands in style, contrary to the conventional functional keys that deliver fixed commands only.

Judging by the codes in the new macOS Sierra, the upcoming OS will support the rumored touch features.

The macOS Sierra exhibits the codes, "kHIDUsage LED DoNotDisturb," which clearly hints a "Do Not Disturb" button which will be placed on the touch panel. In addition, the upcoming OS comes with a code, "kHIDUsage LED NightMode" that probably hints a dark mode for the MacBook Pro 2016.

Apple has opted to remain mum regarding these rumors and has neither confirmed nor denied them.

If the aforementioned rumors turn to be true, fans will soon be treated to a refreshed MacBook Pro 2016.

Several online tech publications have reported that some fans believe that the new laptop will be announced sometime in September.
