CyanogenMod 13: Nexus 7, OnePlus One Et Al Feature Latest CM 13 Nightly Build Based On Android 6.0 Marshmallow
ByCyanogenMod is back with the first ever first nightly builds of CyanogenMod 13 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
This new Nightly CM 13 body must incorporate Doze, a new stock Marshmallow feature that perks up battery standby time and a new app permissions control that was present in previous CM builds making it better because it is innate to Android 6.0 and the fingerprint API for devices having fingerprint scanners. Howevr, there was no confirmation about the CyanogenMod' work in Fingerprint API. Fans would learn more about it when Nightly builds are released, Albany Daily Star reported.
CyanogenMod 13 nightly builds have only been released for a list of devices, the team does say that this list is going to be expanded in the coming days, so do check back on the bews to find out whether your device has also received a beta build of CyanogenMod 13, ADS added.
On the other hand, CM13 Nightlies are not steady builds. So you must have the basic Android 6.0 Marshmallow functions together with other extra stuff created by the CyanogenMod team. Expect better performance and a more stable Android environment from each new Nightly build that gets released. After sufficient Nightlies are rolled out, CyanogenMod will introduce the first SNAPSHOT CM 13 update, which will incorporate all the important Android 6.0 Marshmallow functions.
Generally, nightly builds are not stable compared to the Snapshot releases. The CyanogenMod team, however, recommends that those who have either CM 12.1 YOG4P or CM 12.1 YOG7D releases must stick to the Snapshot release instead of flashing their devices to CM13 nightly build. Still, for those who are willing to download the latest build can do so, but expect that there will be some quality issues.
Below is the list of Handsets in this nightly release:
Nexus 7
Galaxy Tab
Pro 8.4
LG G4
OnePlus One
LG GPad 7.0
Moto X (2014)
LG G3 Verizon
