James Guy Levine, 18, an Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) student has been arrested and currently being held in Yavapai County Jail in connection with a small explosion in a parking lot near a residence hall (Quail Hall) on the Prescott campus , early Tuesday morning.

ERAU security officers responded to the explosion and found a burn mark in the parking lot about 5 feet in diameter and some items close to the explosion including a smoking container under a nearby car.

"The noise report came in to campus security and they checked it out around 1:30 a.m.," ERAU director of marketing and communication, Max Sandoval, said. "They found no one in danger, no property damage, no danger to student's staff or faculty. When daylight came around, they saw the mark on the pavement and contacted the Prescott Police to investigate."

Later in the day, the ERAU security personnel received an anonymous tip that Levine may have been involved in the explosion. They immediately contacted the Prescott Police officers and issued a search warrant.

Levine was eventually arrested after they found additional evidence of bomb-making materials in his room.

Levine has been slapped with three felony charges including misconduct involving explosives, endangerment, disruption of an educational facility and marijuana-related offenses.
