Former US President Bill Clinton to Deliver Graduation Speech at UCF
ByFormer President Bill Clinton will deliver the graduation speech at the University of Central Florida (UCF), May 2, at one of UCF's five graduation ceremonies next week.
The ceremony, which coincides with the university's 50th anniversary, will confer an honorary degree to Clinton for his presidential service, his role as an international ambassador and his humanitarian work with the Clinton Foundation,
Clinton will be addressing students in the UCF College of Health & Public Affairs and the UCF College of Medicine's Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences.
In all 7,800 students are expected to graduate this spring in the five ceremonies from May 2 to May 4.
It will be Clinton's third visit to the university. The other President to address the university students was Richard Nixon in 1973.
William Jefferson 'Bill' Clinton, born as William Jefferson Blythe III on August 19, 1946, was the 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001.
Clinton was the third-youngest president in 1993 and first president of the baby boomer generation.
Before becoming president he was the Governor of Arkansas from 1979-81 and from 1983-92 and served as Chair of the National Governors' Association.
Clinton is an alumnus of Georgetown University and a Rhodes Scholar. Hillary Rodham Clinton, his wife, served as the United States Secretary of State from 2009-13 and was a Senator from New York from 2001-09.
Both the Clintons earned their law degrees from Yale Law School, where they met.
