Boise State University has initiated an investigation after eight small fires were set in various locations throughout the University's Lincoln Parking Garage, Sunday.

Boise Police and Fire departments said that fires had been set in every stairwell in the parking garage, but mostly on the fourth and fifth levels of the garage. They found eight fires- six in stairwells and two in plastic garbage cans that melted.

Among the eight fires, trash can fires were set on the 5th floor and several others along the stair wells and burning scraps of newspaper were also spotted along the stairwells.

However, the Sunday fires haven't caused any damages to the building.

Battalion Chief Steve Rasulo said that no one has yet reported seeing the fires being set and there are no surveillance cameras in the garage.

"We started walking the stairwells and found multiple fires in every single stairwell in the parking garage and most of them were on the fourth and fifth levels of the garage," said Boise Fire Capt. Chris Campbell.

Law enforcement said that the arson is similar to suspicious fires reported last October inside Boise State's Lincoln and Brady parking garages. Investigators think the same person is responsible for all the fires.
