Neil Allan MacInnis, 18, is being held without bail for shooting and injuring two women at New River Community College Friday, around 2:00 p.m.

MacInnis, a student at the college, is charged on four felony counts - two counts each for the use of a firearm to commit a felony and maliciously injuring the victims.

The shootings took place at the New River Valley Mall where a section has been converted into classrooms. Police arrested MacInnis within minutes of the shooting after receiving a 911 call at 2:00 p.m. Both women sustained injuries in the gunfire and are currently reported to be in a stable condition.

Due to the Friday incident, the college officials have cancelled classes on Monday and Tuesday at both the Christiansburg and Dublin campuses. They are also offering counseling services to help the students and others, who witnessed the shooting, to get over any trauma.

Police Department spokeswoman Becky Wilburn said that the names of the victims will not be released due to privacy and security concerns.

The officials are clueless about the motivation behind the shooting and are looking at the online postings allegedly made by MacInnis on 4chan.org, expressing his intentions prior to the shooting incident.

'4chan.org' is an image-based bulletin board where anyone can post comments and share images.

An excerpt of the 1:52 p.m. post:

"... I go to New River Community College in Christiansburg, Virginia, 10 minutes away from Virginia Tech. I'm gonna give y'all the details because the news never gets it right."

MacInnis also gave details about the weapons he would be carrying with him - a Stevens 320 shotgun, buck shots and slug ammunition.

"I'm a bit nervous because I've never really handled a shotgun but a few times with the Christiansburg police," the post also said.

Stewart MacInnis, the suspects' uncle and director of media relations at Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, told Washington Times that the their family is absolutely stunned and devastated.

He also hopes that students would continue their studies and remove this obstacle from their minds.
