Two San Diego State University (SDSU) students were robbed at gunpoint on campus, early Saturday morning.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. The students were confronted by two unknown men on Cuicacalli Walk, they pointed handguns at them and demanded their property.

"The suspects got away with the students' cell phones, wallets, ATM cards and a backpack. No one was injured," campus police said.

The police also said that after taking all of their belongings, they fled the scene toward College Avenue.

According to the police, both suspects were described as black, in their late 20s and about 6'02" - 6'03.

One of them was of athletic build and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with 'SDSU' in red on the front.

The other one was thinly built and had thick eyebrows and was wearing a black beanie.

Campus police have warned students to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity.

SDSU, founded in 1897, is the largest and oldest higher education facility in San Diego County, and the third-oldest university in the California State University system.

The university comprises of 31,597 students and offers 189 Bachelor degree courses, 91 different Master's degrees, 18 varieties of doctoral degrees including Ed.D, Au.D and Ph.D. programs in collaboration with Claremont Graduate University, UCSD and UCSB.

It is also offers the highest number of doctoral degrees among colleges belonging to the California State University system.
