Apple 'iPhone 7 Plus' release date and specs are getting clearer. Nomura Securities just released a note stating that Apple might use LG dual lens product, after previous supplier, Sony, is unable to meet the schedule due to tragic earthquake in Kumamoto that caused severe damage to the production facility.

Thus, Sony will not be able to provide dual-lens camera to the tech giant as it used to be, Barron's Asia reported. Alternatively, Apple chooses LG as its dual-lens camera module primary supplier, for the next iPhone generation dubbed as "iPhone 7 Plus".

Earlier, many rumors have pointed out iPhone's dual lens camera. Echoing the news, KGI Securities spokeperson also made a similar comment. Dual lens camera, however, only happens to "iPhone 7 Plus" whilst the "iPhone 7" will still use single-lens camera and 4.7 inch screen display.

The latest rumor updated on "iPhone 7" is the battery boost for longer life and a change on its chassis design. More news on the flagship is covered in University Herald article. "iPhone 7 Plus" might not have a major change on its design but a viral rumor expects glass-based chassis coming to "iPhone 8" or "iPhone Pro".

While the dual-lens camera supplier might be something 'behind the scene' it would affect the components quality, either it is better or worse. Apple fans are doubtful whether this news should be taken lightly or not. It is arguable that the change will be noticed.

However, the shift to LG assembly should be expected as an increase in camera quality as well. This is because dual camera lens might command 2.5 of ASP premium. Plus, there will also be optical stabilization that would make the shooter works much better. Before Apple turns to LG, Sony supplied its camera modules and reached a huge success. Apple is expected to reveal more on "iPhone 7" and "iPhone 7 Plus" specs in September this year.
