Two workers fell and sustained injuries at a construction site on Marist College Campus after a wall collapsed Wednesday morning, said a fire department official.

The workers, who fell inside the structure at around 8:45 a.m., were immediately transported to the Saint Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie.

One of them is being treated for a broken leg.

"Fairview and Mobile Life Support personnel stabilized and removed the injured workers from the construction debris," Christopher Maeder, chief of the Fairview Fire District said.

The rescue personnel took around 20 minutes to remove the men from the debris.

Other workers present at the site said that they were unaware of the incident. Work continued on the site after the accident.

Marist College, established in 1905, is a private liberal arts college in New York, comprising of 4,500 undergraduate students. The college offers more than 60 graduate and masters' degree and 20 certificates programs.

In 2006, Marist opened its international branch campus in Florence, Italy, by collaborating with the Lorenzo de' Medici School.

The Florence campus consists of ten campus buildings within 4,800 square meters, featuring studio space, lecture classrooms and design workshops.

The college provides two housing options for its students, residence and apartments that are located across the city.

Here, the students can study for a semester or academic year and can choose from over 400 different programs. The campus also offers Bachelor's Degree programs in Art History, Conservation Studies/Restoration, Digital Media, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Studio Art (B.A.) and Studio Art (B.S.).
