Hampshire College officials have installed a Fresh Healthy Café vending machine at the Johnson Library for students who study late night to finish their assignments and projects.

The machine provides freshly-brewed cups of coffee made from fair-trade beans that are ground fresh to help students stay awake late night or early mornings.

"This unique healthy vending machine dispenses organic coffee drinks together with signature healthy snack options," said David Greeman, a franchisee of the Fresh Healthy Vending Company that provides the café machine.

Students can have access to the freshest organic, gourmet coffee in less than 40 seconds with just a touch of a button.

The vending machine also offers a variety of other hot and cold beverages; such as hot chocolate, chai tea and lattes with French vanilla; healthy juices, smoothies, iced teas and natural sodas.

Each beverage costs less than two dollars, making it affordable for students at this private liberal arts college. The machine accepts credit and debit cards and bills and coins.

Apart from beverages, the machine also dispenses nutritious and wholesome snacks such as granola bars and baked chips, encouraging a health food environment for the student body.

The library is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 a.m. during crucial months of the academic year and the remaining months it is open until midnight.

An advantage is that the vending machine is also accessible after other campus food and beverage options have closed.

Marge Dunehew, Hampshire College's purchasing manager said that it's an attractive vending machine and operates trouble-free as they have received only positive feedbacks till date.
