Zedd has finally released his collaboration single with pop singer Kesha. The record is the latter's first song to be released after her highly-publicized legal battle with her former mentor/music producer Dr. Luke (real name Lukasz Gottwald) and by extension, her record label Sony.

"True Colors," first appeared as an album cut in Zedd's "True Colors" EP but is now released as a remix with Kesha's vocals.

"True Colors" is also Kesha's first song since late 2013 when "Timber," her collaboration with Latino rapper Pitbull hit the top spots in charts all over the world, Cleveland reported.

Kesha, who just came off a successful stint in the recent Coachella music festival with the German disc jockey, teased some behind the scenes images of the recording of the song on Instagram, praising Zedd for being "a f**king beautiful person with a heart of gold."

The song was released after getting permission from Sony and Kemosabe, Dr. Luke's label imprint.

It should be remembered that Kesha filed a lawsuit against Dr. Luke in October 2014 for alleged emotional, physical, verbal and sexual harassment and abuse, Pitchfork reported. Dr. Luke has produced songs for Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry and Britney Spears.

The "Your Love Is My Drug" singer notably argued to the court about how her contract with Dr. Luke and Sony is causing her career decline.

The collaboration between the two artists started when Zedd reached out to Kesha when the injunction she filed against Dr. Luke was junked by the judge, according to Rolling Stone.

Kesha's mother, Pebe Sebert, has recently dropped her counterclaims against Dr. Luke. Her countersuit previously stated that Dr. Luke has caused her daughter "distress" and that he should no longer be part of her career, Billboard reported.
