The popular dating app Tinder has announced a new friend-finding feature where groups can connect. Tinder Social will allow a group of friends to swipe and match with others that they are interested to meet with. Tinder is trying to experiment but some users are unhappy with the feature. It also exposed who among their Facebook friends are using the app.

On their website, Tinder introduced Tinder Social where they emphasized that it's not used for group dating but rather a new way to "go out with friends." The company is still testing it out in Australia but it may be launched worldwide soon. To use the app, friends need to create a group on Tinder Social and then they can swipe and match with groups they want to hang out or socialize with. Groups can also use the app feature to chat and arrange meetups.

However, many Tinder users were upset when the new feature exposed their Facebook profile including their friends on the popular social media platform. Tinder Social made Facebook profiles very accessible for viewing, Tech Crunch reports. For those not keen on using Tinder to find new friends, The Verge shares that users can opt out of it. They can do this on the app's settings as well.

Some people think that while Tinder intended for Tinder Social to be a friend-finding feature, many think that this could be used for finding group sex. Gizmodo shares that Tinder has a reputation of being used as a hookup app so those who think so may believe that Tinder Social is used for arranging group hookup.
