Petyr Baelish (played by Aidan Gillen), also known as Littlefinger, one of the most influential people in Westeros, along with Lord Varys, has a few of the best lines in the "Game of Thrones" universe.

According to the International Business Times, since the first season, the two knobbed back and forth teasing incredibly well and provided some of the most compelling interactions of the HBO medieval fantasy show - something especially true in the first two annual runs of the series. Their lines were made for the series, and it presented another intriguing side of all the conspiring and manipulating happening abaft the Iron Throne. Their conversation exhibited how canny and aggressive Littlefinger was.

Even after Littlefinger fled from the city of King's Landing for his other endeavors, he has not held back his sharp tongue, dispatching all kinds of biting remarks and penetrating critique to one of the remaining Starks, Sansa, and oily self-serving lies along the road - a lot of them quite memorable and worth celebrating as we prepare ourselves for the grim sixth season. Here are some as compiled from IGN and IMDb.

When he shows his feelings....

"Ah, the Starks! Quick tempers, slow minds."

This line, uttered during a confrontation with Ned Stark during the first season, best describes Baelish's feelings towards Stark, who married Littlefinger's first love.

When he was actually empowering....

"People die at their dinner tables. They die in their beds. They die squatting over their chamber pots. Everybody dies sooner or later. And don't worry about your death. Worry about your life. Take charge of your life for as long as it lasts."

This quote would have been perfect for graduation ceremonies if only there was no "die" in it.

When he broke down diplomacy...

"We only make peace with our enemies, my lord. That's why it's called 'making peace.'"

Another pivotal moment in the first season that could have lead to THAT tragic death in the ninth episode, this quote highlights Baelish's strategic mind.

Baelish will appear in the sixth season of "Game of Thrones" airing Sundays, 9 pm ET on HBO.
