Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates, 57, will address Concordia College students, April 27, as part of the festivities organized for the newly renovated Grant Center, which houses the Offutt School of Business.

"Mr. Gates serves as an exceptional representative of the innovative spirit and dedication to responsible engagement in the world that defines both the Offutt School of Business and our liberal arts college as whole," said President William Craft.

Gates is set to discuss social entrepreneurship, importance of philanthropy and will share his stories of success with the students at the university. This will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

He co-founded Microsoft in 1975 and served as CEO until 2000. Gates left his full-time role in 2008 to concentrate on the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. However, he still serves as the company's chairman.

The private foundation launched in 1994, collaborates with countries around the world to solve poverty, healthcare and education related problems.

Christoffer Birch-Jensen, an international student said that he is not only one of the world's richest men, but has contributed a lot to the society.

Birch-Jensen said that the college is really honored and lucky to meet him in person.

Gates' net worth is valued at $61 billion.

The Offutt School of Business is an undergraduate business program that offers specializations in business, international business and accounting with concentrations in economics, finance, healthcare administration, marketing and organizational leadership.

Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., is a four-year, private liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
