The Greene School has hired a new director of academics. Dr. Denise Spirou will be joining the private elementary school as a full time teacher. Dr. Spirou has a bachelor of science degree, a master's in education and a specialist degree in educational leadership and a doctorate in teacher leadership.
Palm Beach Daily News reports that Dr. Denise Spirou has worked at The Weiss School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida for 16 years where she is the current head. She will be joining The Greene School which is established by Billionaire Jeff Greene and his wife Mei Sze Greene. The school will open in September of this year in West Palm Beach where it will serve students from Pre-K to fourth grade.
Prior to teaching at The Weiss School, Dr. Spirou worked at the Stroudsburg Area School District in Pennsylvania and then at Palm Beach County School District in 1999. Dr. Spirou has received many accolades in her teaching career. She won the North Palm Beach Teacher of the Year Award in 2004. She is also a recipient of the Learning Disabilities of America Award, William Brownfield Award and North Palm Beach Rotarian of the Year Award. Additionally, Dr. Spirou has helped around 200 Independent School teachers get their endorsement from the State of Florida.
According to the school's official website, The Greene School offers "an ideal solution" where talented and gifted elementary students will be given amazing opportunities to develop their young minds. The school offers different and challenging curriculum for Pre-K to fourth grade students. Their international curriculum includes STEAM projects, math, science, engineering, musc, visual and language arts, reading, writing, social studies and physical education. The Greene School aims to provide an academically challenging avenue of learning for kids with advanced learning.
