Techno Buffalo explains that in order to use the new filter, users will need to open the front camera for selfie mode. The Verge shares that the rear camera can also be used to access the new feature but it has to be focused on someone's face first. The app will open a menu where they can select images of what picture they can face swap with. Pictures of friends, family, pets, celebrities or anything with a face can be used. Results can vary from horrifying to downright comical.
Additionally, the update on iOS also removes the option where Snapchat charges users for replaying a Snap. So instead of in-app purchases, there will only be advertisements, MacWorld notes. Users of Snapchat can once again replay Snaps for free and then they disappear once done.
