Music enthusiasts of Phillip Phillips, the winner of 2012 American Idol, can see him perform live, April 13, at 'BenBash 2013' in Benedictine university's Dan and Ada Rice Center.

BenBash is a daylong spring party sponsored by the university and its alumni association to celebrate the end of an academic year.

Phillips, 22, is credited to have produced the most popular coronation song, 'Home', by any 'Idol' winner, last year, as it sold more than 3.4 million copies.

The song was also used as a background score for the 2012 U.S. Olympics women's gymnastics team.

His debut album, 'The World From the Side of the Moon,' was also a big success as it received a gold status and took the number four spot at Billboard's Top 200 chart.

"His name came up and when we contacted him, we were lucky enough that he was available. In the three years we have been doing concerts, with some rather big names, we have never had this much buzz." Debbie Smith, university events director, told Daily Herald.

Once the news spread about Phillips' performance at the university people started crowding its social media pages and the organizers about the tickets, who are still having hard time managing calls

Phillip LaDon Phillips, Jr., started producing music since the age of 14. He started playing music with the help of a karaoke player to the tunes of Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" and Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train" among others.

After receiving support and encouragement from his friends and family, he gave auditions for "American Idol," where he impressed the judges by singing songs of artists such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett.
