Both the Oklahoma Sooners (3) and West Virginia Mountaineers (10) need to get back on track after their recent struggles have helped Kansas get back in control of the Big 12.

Only a game behind the Jayhawks, and with their season series split, West Virginia has the best shot at ending Kansas' 11-year regular season title streak. But Oklahoma would move into a tie for second place with a win and could also sweep its season series with the Mountaineers.

The former number-one team in the nation, Oklahoma has one win over its last four games. The Sooners face an uphill route to the Big 12 regular season title, but now their mission has to be more about building momentum heading into the postseason.

West Virginia has staggered its wins and losses over its last couple weeks and are trying to rebound from an upset loss to Texas. Oklahoma has lost to West Virginia the last two times it visited Morgantown, and would love to give senior Buddy Hield a win their before he leaves.

"Yeah it's an opportunity to make a statement, but regardless of who we're playing it'll be an opportunity," Oklahoma head coach Lon Kruger said in a pregame press conference, according to ESPN. "We've not been getting results and playing like we need to. We've got five (games) left and each of those will be an opportunity that we'll treat like a need to make a statement... to ourselves as much as anything."
