Indiana University (IU), Bloomington, is offering 'GlobeSmart', a web-based product tool from Aperian Global that provides students quick and easy access to information for an effective business venture with people around the world.
This is the first such web-based product on offer by any university in the country for its students.
In addition, this tool improves international competency as it offers consultation and training services about business and its culture for class and research projects.
The tool equips students to communicate effectively and manage people, teaches business etiquette and also gives environment and travel information.
"If IU is to effectively expand the range and depth of teaching and scholarship on international topics, we must use every resource we can to increase our understanding and expertise. Business and industry know this well and have used GlobeSmart to ensure effectiveness in their international activities," said David Zaret, IU vice president for international affairs.
'GlobeSmart' enables students to prepare for international internships and workforce culture and eliminates gaps and use work-style differences and similarities with other cultures and colleagues effectively .
Brenda Johnson, the Ruth Lilly Dean of the Indiana University Libraries said that along with Kelley School and the Office of the vice president of International Affairs they were able to purchase the teaching tool that now benefits the entire student body.
