With just a week left for the world's most coveted award ceremony to begin, Cheryl Williams, a 1983 graduate and an alumni of Antioch College, is finding it difficult to keep her feet stuck to the ground.
Williams' movie ' Silver Linings Playbook' has secured eight Academy award nominations, including best picture, best director, best actor and best actress. Overall, this romantic drama picture has been very well-received around the world.
William plays Jennifer Lawrence's mother in the movie. It also stars Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper.
Although, she has few scenes with these actors, she is happy to be a part of the cast.
"It was amazing to do scenes with Bradley Cooper. And you're sharing moments with Jennifer Lawrence, and you're doing a scene with De Niro, even though most of that scene was cut," Williams told the newspaper. "I never felt less than or different than them."
Tammy Bevan, Williams' sister and a local insurance agent, told Spring Field News Sunt that she has seen the movie a couple of times already and would recommend it to her friends and others, even if her sister had no role in it.
Williams is an award winning stage actress, who received the Barrymore Awards in 2010 for her role in "The Breath of Life" play.
Currently, she is an acting professor at Temple University, Philadelphia.
Being a theater personality all her life, Williams hopes that starring in this big movie would help her receive more film work.
Praising her on-screen daughter's work, Williams said that Lawrence is nice and great and deserves everything. She hopes that Lawrence bags an Oscar.
Lawrence has already won a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her role in the movie.
