Dr. Jack P Calareso, the 61-year-old president of Anna Maria College, has received an extended contract to serve for an additional five years in the same post by the college's board of trustees.

The new contract is now valid till 2017. However, once his term ends, Calareso will be charged with consulting and teaching projects assigned by the board for an additional year.

"We are particularly grateful and blessed that President Calareso has opted to lead the AMC Community for the next five year His leadership inspires commitment and exemplifies the best practices and strategies for Catholic higher education today," Yvette E. Bellerose, SSA, chair of the AMC board, told the Landmark

Calareso's achievements as a president since 2007 feature additions of new undergraduate and graduate programs, co curricular and online academic programs; doubling of enrolments; creation of three new residence halls, academic venue, multi-functional athletic field, athletic facility and new sports teams.

Plus, the college endowment has increased to $4 million.

Anna Maria is a co-educational college, founded in 1946 by the Sisters of St. Anne. Spread on 192 acres. Every year the college enrolls around 1,462 students.
