Boise State University has partnered with Academic Partnerships to provide an online MBA program.
The State Board of Education approved the new program, Feb.13, during its regular meeting in Coeur d'Alene.
The online MBA program will be self-supporting and no state funds will be used.
The university already offers full-time MBA program, part-time evening MBA program for working professionals and an Executive MBA program.
The online MBA program will be offered by Boise State's College of Business and Economics (COBE) and will start its enrolments this spring and begin classes from August 2013.
"We are truly committed to expanding access to our programs in order to better serve the needs of our students, and this new program is yet another example of that," said Boise State Provost, Martin Schimpf.
Randy Best, founder and chairman of Academic Partnerships (AP), said that both the institutions share the commitment to provide online programs to students near and far.
All of the university business degrees are accredited by the international Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the gold standard of accreditation.
Boise State comprises of seven academic colleges and provides nearly 200 programs to undergraduate and graduate students.
So far, AP has assisted more than 750 professionals, converted more than 1,500 traditional courses into an online delivery format and recruited thousands of students into online degree programs for its U.S. and international partners.
