NC State Football Recruiting News: Thaddeus Moss, Son of Randy Moss, Picks Wolfpack
ByThaddeus Moss shares a lot in common with his father, Randy, but as he embarks on his own football career he wants to make his own way.
The younger Moss committed to N.C. State, whereas his father went to Marshall. But like his dad, Thaddeus is a tall, athletic pass-catcher, albeit as a tight end rather than a wide receiver.
While Thaddeus Moss is not the physical specimen his dad was, but evaluators like that he has shown that he is not afraid of contact and posses great ability catching the ball. Though his name may have gotten him attention, he wanted to go through as much of the recruiting process on his own as he could.
"For the most part, he really let me go about the process on my own," Thaddeus Moss told ESPN.com. "I asked for his opinion and for him to sit down with the coaches and talk, but I asked for that these last few weeks. He voiced his opinion, and we had in-depth conversations about what was best for me and what was best for the family."
A four-star prospect at tight end, Thaddeus Moss also plays defensive end on defense and shows good promise there too. His length and size make him an intriguing prospect, and he will certainly get his fair share of attention for the name on his jersey.
"It just felt right," Moss told ESPN.com. "It's close to home, it felt right, and they kept it real with me from day one. NC State was the first team to offer, and loyalty was rewarded."
