If his huge incoming recruiting class led LSU to keep Les Miles around at least another year, the coach is validating the school's decision.
Just a couple weeks ahead of National Signing Day, Miles added a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Willie Allen. According to ESPN, Allen was getting heavy attention from several rival SEC schools, as well as TCU, so his commitment to LSU could quietly wind up being one of Miles' biggest recruiting victories this winter.
"LSU is home," Allen told ESPN. "I had been asking God to give me little signs about the place I need to be, and that's what he did. All the signs pointed me to LSU. I already went to the schools I was really considering more than once. I knew everything I needed to know. The time was right. LSU is the place for me."
Miles has absolutely swept the state of Louisiana for most of its highest-rated recruits. Out of 247 Sports' best Louisiana recruits, seven of the top 10 players are either committed to LSU or have already signed. The top two players in the state are also believed to be leaning toward LSU and the fifth overall player is at least considering LSU.
ESPN currently ranks LSU's incoming class second overall only to Ohio State and out its 20 recruits, 17 are rated four-stars. If LSU can add cornerback Kristian Fulton and defensive tackle Rashard Lawrence, Miles would add two five-star recruits on top of that.
