Colorado State University President Dr. Anthony A. Frank has received a hike in salary and a new five-year contract, Friday, approved by the board members of the university.

As part of the new contract, Frank will receive $450,000 as base salary and an increment of $25,000 in 2015 and 2016. His current salary is $392,000.

"I'm flattered and humbled by the board's confidence," Frank said. "Obviously, I care very deeply for CSU, having spent the last 20 years of my life and career as part of the Colorado State community."

Board Chairman Joe Zimlich said that Frank had an ambitious vision for CSU, and they wanted to support him throughout his tenure at the university.

The contract effective from Jan.1 is valid till 2017.

Out of his 20 years at CSU, Frank spent the last three and a half years as President. On June.24, 2009, he became the 14th President of CSU.

He also served as interim President of CSU since November 2008, and four years as provost and senior vice president among other top administrative posts.

Before joining CSU in 1993, Frank was the chairman of the Department of Pathology and associate dean for research in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Oregon State University.

His academic qualifications feature a bachelor's degree in biology from Wartburg College; Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois, and a Ph.D. and residencies in pathology and toxicology at Purdue University.
