Kirby Dewayne Ennis, a defensive lineman for Texas A&M Aggie football team, has been suspended Sunday for his arrest in a road-rage incident and display of firearms

"Texas A&M officials have been made aware of the arrest of football player Kirby Ennis and according to athletics department policy he is immediately suspended from all team activities pending further investigation," Associate Athletics Director, Alan Cannon, told KBTX.

Ennis, 22, appeared in 11 games as a junior player in 2012. Al together, he has 24 tackles and a sack.

Police arrested Ennis on Friday after he threatened another driver with an unregistered semi-automatic pistol at a stoplight, as he felt that the driver was tailgating him or driving too slowly.

However, he was released on a $2,000 bond, on Saturday.

"Both drivers got angry at each other and then that ultimately led to the suspect pulling out a handgun and displaying it to the calling party," Officer Phil Dorsett with the College Station Police Department told the newspaper.

In his defence, Ennis told the police that he was driving his girlfriends' silver Infinity SUV and she had left the gun by the drivers' side-door.

And he was just trying to place the gun at the back seat.

On the other hand, the driver said that Ennis had honked several times to move forward, but he was unable to do it because of the traffic, The Eagle reported.
